MUKAH: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Sibu Campus here recently organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in collaboration with the villagers of Kampung Tanjung.

Programme secretary Mohd Helmi Zamil said, the programme, named “Mukah Di Hati, UUM Menyantuni,” is a compulsory activity for the students.

A total of 70 students and 12 villagers took part in the programme, which involved working together to clean the surau (prayer hall) in Kampung Tanjung. Additionally, the programme included a talk and demonstration on fire extinguishing by the firemen from Mukah fire and rescue station.

The primary objective of the programme was to foster stronger ties between the UUM Sibu Campus students and the local residents in the district. The selection of Kampung Tanjung was based on its unique location and its proximity to the sea.

Dalat and Mukah District Council Mayor (MDDM) Councilor Aini Suhaili was also present during the programme.
