SIBU: Pet owners here are reminded to vaccinate their dogs to curb the spread of rabies.
Chairman of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) Clarence Ting said that rabies was still around and more than 20 Sarawakians had died of rabies since 2017.
“Please vaccinate your dogs yearly to prevent the spread of rabies among animals It is provided free by the Sarawak government.”
“Please contact our hotline if you see stray dogs. Let’s end this together,” he said on Wednesday.
People can contact the rabies hotline at 016-2051111 Ministry of Local Government and Housing; whatsapp mesages only) from 8am till 8pm for the reporting of stray dogs.
Apart from that, people also can contact 016-2557267 (Department of Veterinary Services) for rabies related enquiries and reporting from 8am till 5pm.
