KUCHING: Former Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Song Swee Guan’s swollen hand was not caused by the vaccination jab, said MBKS mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.

He said this to refute claims circulating among the public that Song was unwell after he was inoculated.

“Some Councillors and I have met up with Datuk Song after a visit to Stutong Community Market Sunday morning. He was well and energetic.

“His jab was on the left arm and the swollen part was on the right hand,” he said.

As informed by Song, Wee said the swollen right hand was actually caused by an infection and he had seen a doctor on the matter.

“It has nothing to do with the vaccination jab and it has healed,” he assured in a statement today (May 10).

At the same time, Wee thanked the public for their concern on Song’s health.

“However, I would like to advise the public to not spread news which have not been verified others,” he added.

He also advised the public to register for Covid-19 vaccination as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, please adhere to relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs),” said Wee.
