BINTULU: The second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for the division has started today and will commence till April 26.
The programme which is administring Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines is prioritising senior citizens aged 60 above, patients with chronic and high-risk diseases and persons with disabilities (PwD).
Divisional Health officer Dr Melvin Chung said a total of 1,638 senior citizens were expected to receive vaccinations by Monday (April 26).
on April 24 and 25, there were 600 recipients, followed by 438 more recipients on Monday at the vaccination centre (PPV), Dewan Sri Kenyalang Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB).
Apart from that, Dr Melvin said another PPV was also opened at Dewan Sukan Tatau and Balai Raya Sebauh, adding that another centre will be opened at Dewan Lembaga Kemajuan Bintulu (BDA).
“We are ready if the quantity of vaccine is needed (for the opening of a new PPV),” he said when met while monitoring the situation of the vaccination programme at Dewan Sri Kenyalang UPMKB, on Friday.
At the same time, he urged all individuals who have registered through the MySejahtera application to check their vaccination status.
