MIRI: Local frontliners will be vaccinated in the first phase of the vaccination programme which will start next month, said minister-in-charge of the Miri Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Sunday (Feb 21).
He added that the Covid-19 vaccine was expected to arrive in this district on March 6.
“Vaccination programme for this district will be carried out in three phases, with the first phase involving the frontliners (March to April) followed by the second and third phases (April to August) covering 80 percent of the Miri population, aged 18 years and above,” he said.
The vaccination programme involved seven facilities in this district.
Lee said that the public could register themselves for the free Covid-19 vaccine via the MySejahtera app on their handphones. Those with no internet access could approach the nearest hospitals, clinics and district offices.
In Miri, apart from the nearest district offices, registration for the Covid-19 vaccination can be done at Ulu Teru Health Clinic, Long San Health Clinic, Long Pillah health clinic, Long Naah health clinic, Long Miri health clinic, Long Bedian health clinic, Long Kevok health clinic, Long Bemang health clinic, Long Jekitan health clinic, Long Jeeh health clinic, Long Moh health clinic, Long Lellang health clinic, Bario health clinic, Lio Mato health clinic, Long Banga health clinic, Pa’ Dallih health clinic, Mulu National Park Health clinic, Long Panai health clinic, Long Seridan health clinic, Long Loyang health clinic, Long Teran health clinic, Long Teru health clinic and Long Jegan health clinic.
The first batch of the Pfizer -BioNTech vaccine arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport this morning.
