DALAT: The Kampung Penat Kaul Festival 2017 was officiated by Tellian State Assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, over the weekend.
It was jointly organised by the Village Development and Security Committee and Kampung Penat Youth Federation.
Among the activities of the day were the telematch featuring traditional and modern games, tug-of-war, bird chirping competition, lucky draws and health examination.
The colourful event was staged at the beach of the village which located on the border of Dalat and Mukah Districts.
At the function, the guest-of-honour also gave away the prizes to the winners of the various competitions held throughout the festival.
The occasion also saw the handing over of the main component of Kaul Festival `Seraheng’ to Dalat/Mukah District Council (Walikota), Haji Kadir Haji Jamil, who is also the Organising Chairman of Oya Kaul Festival to be held this coming weekend.
Also present at this annual programme were the Organising Chairman Penghulu Jefferina Bin Galau of Kampung Penat, heads of departments and local community leaders.
