SPAOH: A king cobra has been caught at the doorstep of a councillor’s house near Kebun Cina Bukit Panjang here.
According to the spokesperson of Foxtrot team of the Civil Defence Force (APM) Betong, the venomous reptile was spotted at 5.58pm last Tuesday.
“Upon receiving a call, three members of the force went to Councillor Walter Chang’s house in front of SMK Spaoh. The snake was still at the front door when they arrived.
“We suspected that the snake was looking for a way to enter the house. Fortunately it was spotted in time,” said the spokesperson.
The 12-foot-long reptile was eventually caught just before 7pm and it was put in a cage to be handed over later to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks or released in its natural habitat.
