MARUDI: Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala visited the Marudi District vaccination centre (PPV) on Monday (Feb 7) in conjunction with the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Kids (PICKids).

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) on Wednesday (Feb 9), the Mulu assemblyman’s visit was to witness 180 students from four primary schools getting vaccinated.

Shortly after, he paid a working visit to the Puyut Lubuk Nibong area. In his speech there, he thanked the voters of Puyut and Lubuk Nibong for their support, which was a key factor in the huge victory of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the 12th Sarawak state election (PRN-12).

During his visit, he also presented a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM10,000 to the Rumah Sigan Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK); RM5,000 to the Rumah Sigan Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak Unit; and RM3,000 each to six families setting up new homes.

He then continued his working visit to Rumah Telajan to survey a drain there which has been fully completed. He also witnessed the handover of the project that started on Oct 15 last year under a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) involving the construction of a drain stretching 110 metres behind the longhouse.

After that, he inspected the Projek Rakyat located at Sungai Puyut, namely the construction of Jalan Marudi Long Terawan Phase 1.
