KUCHING: Malaysian veteran singer, Datuk M. Daud Kilau is currently warded at the Teluk Intan Hospital, Perak due to pneumonia. His condition is reported to be stable.
The singer’s son, Ahmad Zaini said that his father was admitted on Tuesday night (Sept 6) and is in critical condition after having breathing difficulties.
Daud Kilau, 84, is under doctor’s supervision and on breathing aid, said his son. Zaini said since last night, his father has been conscious.
“He is conscious now and is able to eat and drink. Yesterday, he was not able to do so,” he told a national Malay daily.
Previously, Zaini had said the doctor confirmed with the family that Daud Kilau’s pneumonia is at a critical level.
“Our family has given clearance to the doctors to perform CPR and to use a tube for breathing assistance in case his heart stops”.
The crooner had previously undergone angioplasty surgery at the National Heart Institute (IJN) two years ago. He last took the stage four years ago and he had to decline other performing invitations due to poor health.
