KUCHING: A group of about seven men assaulted a patron of a pub in Jalan Mendu at 1.30am on Monday.
The victim, aged 44, was in the pub together with some friends when the group of men armed with various types of weapons entered the music joint and singled him out causing him to suffer from a broken arm as well as head and body injuries.
Worried about their own safety the victim’s friends and other patrons dared not do anything to help.
After the assault, the group fled from the scene. Some friends of the victim helped to send him to a private hospital for treatment.
A police report was lodged on the incident. Police who are investigating the case know the identity of the suspects. However, the motive of the attack is yet to be ascertained.
