KOTA PADAWAN: Community leaders and village headmen (KMKK) are urged to collaborate with members of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) so that any issues that are raised can be brought to the council directly.
Chairman of MPP, Lo Khere Chiang said that the councilors faced difficulties to be aware of the issues involving the local communities due to how widespread the areas that they needed to oversee.
“That being said, I urge the KMKK to cooperate with us so that we can assist you on the matter.
“The community leaders and village chiefs must understand things that are happening around their village, so please bring them to members of the council,” he said.
Lo said this in his speech during the handover of appointment letters to the kapitan here yesterday.
He added that if the councillors work together with the community chiefs, it would ease the work process and operation.
The Batu Kitang assemblyman added that the issues presented would of course be brought to the MPP meeting which involved related agencies.
“Through the meeting, the departments will take the appropriate action in order for the issues concerned to be solved,” he added.
He also called for continued cooperation that also needed to be enhanced between MPP and the community leaders.
“And this will strengthen the people’s confidence in the council alongside gaining support from them,” he added.
During the ceremony, Lo witnessed the handing over of letter of appointment to Kapitan Lim Eng Kok for Mile 10, which was presented by Padawan District official Julius Scott Sapong.
Apart from that, he also witnessed the handing over of reappointment letters to Penghulu Lim Eng Huat, Kpg Semaba headman Thomas Gown, Kpg Betung headman Jong Likan Semboi and Kpg Dangak headman Clement Mboh.
