SEBUYAU: A donation amounting to RM5,440 was successfully handed over to the victims of the fire that occurred in Sebuyau Town on Aug 6.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the donation is a contribution from the 18 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) Kampung Iban Sebuyau Zone and the Randau Ruai Community Committee of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Sebuyau.
The donation cheque was presented by Randau Ruai Community Chairman TR Najel Achik to Penghulu Law Khin Seng, who represented the 10 household heads involved in the fire. Witnessing the hand over was acting Sebuyau District Officer, Jerry Zannuddin Bidin.
According to Jerry, he hoped that the aid could help to reduce the burden of the fire victims.
“This donation is an initiative of all parties involved who are sensitive to the hardships of others, regardless of race and religion,” he said.
Also present were Simunjan Pemanca Asli Yahya; Penghulu Abu Seman Suhali and members of the Randau Ruai Community.
