MUKAH: Kampung Bedanga Ulu here finally has its own multipurpose hall after a few years of waiting for their application to be approved.

The villagers are thankful to the two state assemblymen who helped get the project approved and implemented.

The application was brought up by the villagers to Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo during a Christmas gathering in December 2014.

Yussibnosh, who is the former Balingian assemblyman, told them that they had to find a suitable site first before he could consider their application.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi then helped with the subsequent application and ultimately the implementation of the RM450,000 project.

The rural transformation project (RTP) was implemented by a local contractor, Syarikat Anderson Sungai Teblu, Mukah.

Construction of the hall commenced last April 8 and completed on October 7.

It was, among other things, equipped with a stage, toilet, six wall fans and an indoor badminton court.

Balingian Constituency Service Centre special officer Che Ghazali Arbi, said the hall will undergo the final inspection before being handed over by the contractor to the village.
