KUCHING: Every village head and community leader must keep Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) updated on the number of ‘asnaf’ families in their respective villages.
Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said this is to facilitate the distribution of aid and donations to them.
“This is because the list we receive from TBS or the District Office will be used to track and provide assistance to individuals in need,” he said after presenting the donation to 187 recipients at Masjid Darul Hasanah, Kampung Selang Ulu here, recently.
The Pantai Damai assemblyman said that village leaders can also inform the community service centre, village committee, Social Welfare Department (JKM) and wakil rakyat regarding the matter.
“So far, the list of recipients of donations from the asnaf group for Pantai Damai has not changed much and if anyone is left out of this list, it may be because they already have a source of income,” he added.
