KUCHING: Habitat For Indigenous And Urban Programme (Hidup) and the women’s bureau of Kampung Patung are jointly organising “A Day With the Community” programme at Kampung Patung, Siburan on May 19.
Hidup president George Young Si-Ricord Junior said there would be health screening by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) for the women in the area.
“This is sponsored and brought by Hidup to help the women to understand the health issues concerning them.
George added any women above 40 could apply for the mammogram subsidy on that day.
He added the women’s bureau at Patung would set up food stalls and other stalls. There would also be a tele-match, lucky draws, a mini karaoke session and zumba to draw more people to the event.
George explained that Hidup was a society that aimed to inculcate a spirit of giving and create awareness.
“One person can make a difference and Hidup will be that conduit. A shining path for all like-minded person to serve, provide and empower his/her surroundings’ habitat and its inhabitants,” he added.
George said recently, Hidup also donated wheelchairs and diapers through Serian Health Department to the needy patients at Kampung Munggu Kupi in Serian during their community day which was organised by Serian Resident Office.
The hand over was witnessed by Native Land Development Assistant Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who officiated at the community programme that day.
