MIRI: Luck ran out for a crocodile when it entered a chicken coop at Kampung Iran, Batu Niah on Monday (June 8).

Villagers spotted the 1.8-metre crocodile and wasted no time in alerting the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) which despatched a team of seven firefighters to the scene.

It didn’t take long for the firefighters to capture the reptile.

The crocodile was later released in its natural habitat.

Firefighters along with villagers of Kampung Iran capturing the crocodile which entered the chicken coop.

Meanwhile, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CRS), two firms donated two 20-litre propane pumps to Batu Niah Bomba.

The pumps from Tai Lee Sdn Bhd Company and Ngee Foh Watch Electrical Store will add on to the department’s existing equipment for sanitation operations around Niah.

Soon Fatt Trading also donated a tool box unit.
