MUKAH: Fifty families from Kampong Penat, Oya received donations in the form of basic necessities during an Aidilfitri Basket Distribution Programme at the village’s multipurpose hall on Wednesday.
The contribution from Politeknik Mukah (PMU) and was organised by its Department of General Studies in collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs and Development .
The handing over of donations was officiated by the Deputy Director of Academic Support (TPSA) Awang Anuar Awang Mansor on behalf of the Director of Mukah Polytechnic, Dr Zamzam Mohd Walid.
Director of the Aidilfitri Basket Distribution Programme, Ustaz Mohd Norfaeezwan Buang said it was held to encourage Muslims to share sustenance and appreciate the month of Ramadan and Syawal as a month of worship and also a month of welfare.
Kampung Penat Penghuu Jaferina Galau thanked PMU for choosing the village to donate.
“This contribution can alleviate some expenses in the purchase of basic goods ahead of the Hari Raya celebration,” she added.
