KUCHING: Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) and Sunway Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development have provided food basket donations to 100 families in three villages, namely Kampung Beradek, Kampung Semilang, and Kampung Tiang Api, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

The programme, known as the YKN Ramadan Kasih Programme, aimed to promote corporate social responsibility towards the community and was launched by the Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

During the event yesterday, many expressed gratitude for the aid and hoping that it would continue. They said that it is much needed and helps to ease the burden of expenses during Ramadan.

Here are the views of some of the recipients on the aid.

The contributions distributed to less fortunate residents during this Ramadan season have certainly alleviated some of their burdens. We hope that aid like this will continue, especially as the upcoming festive season draws near.

As the main breadwinner in the family, aid like this is much awaited as it helps to ease the burden of expenses, especially for basic food purchases during Ramadan.

Aid in the form of food baskets like this is very helpful to us, as we know that the cost of living is increasing day by day. Therefore, we are grateful for the caring individuals and organisations that provide assistance to those in need.
