KUCHING: A total of 179 houses in Kampung Simpang Tiga and Kampung Lumba Kuda here received food aid from the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) youth team in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
The aid consisted of bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) as well as boxes of dates and face masks.
SUPP Youth Central Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Bureau chief Eric Tay Tze Kok has applauded the harmonious relationship and cooperation that exists between the communities.
He said this is the second occasion in which his team, community leaders (KK) and the village development and security committee (JKKK) have worked together for this year.
“I feel very proud that my team is able to provide assistance to the community. Earlier this year, we also provided aid to those who were badly affected by the flood.
“The relationship and cooperation that exists between my team and the KK as well as JKKK has allowed us to provide assistance, irrespective of how small or big it may be,” he said during a simple handover ceremony at Jalan Sekama Utama here today (Apr 14).
Meanwhile, KK Mutaee Rebi and KK Hashim Kipli expressed their gratitude for the generous contribution from Tay and his team.
Both KK said they are eager to build a better relationship with Tay and his team.
On a separate occasion, Tay also handed over boxes of dates and face masks to the Central Police Station.
