KUCHING: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has contributed a total of 68 cows valued at RM476,000 to 62 villages including Kampung Muhibbah, Sri Aman; Kuching District Headquarters; and Kampung Stutong Melayu in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration this year.

He was represented by Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi in presenting the donation to the villages involved.

The korban programme is expected to strengthen ties among the locals, especially in the new norm caused by Covid-19.

In a statement yesterday , Wan Junaidi hoped that the contribution of sacrificial cows would be able to help the less fortunate, aside from enlivening the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

He also stressed that the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia was still present, therefore advising those participating in Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations to continue adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP) which had been implemented since the earlier movement control order (MCO).
