KUCHING: A teacher’s emotional plea to stay by his wife’s side as she battles cancer has drawn the attention of the Ministry of Education (MoE).

In a statement on its Facebook page, the ministry announced that it had granted leave to the teacher, Cikgu Din, to care for his wife.

“The MoE is aware of the teacher’s situation, as highlighted on social media, and is deeply concerned about his wife’s health challenges.

“We will arrange a meeting with him soon to discuss his welfare and other related matters.

“The ministry prays for the swift recovery of the teacher’s wife and is committed to ensuring the well-being of both him and his family,” it said in the statement today.

On October 23, a post from Harima Abd Rahman went viral, sharing that Cikgu Din, who was currently serving in Sarawak, was facing difficulties accompanying his wife who was undergoing treatment in Kelantan.

“His plea to be transferred to Semenanjung has also been rejected a few times,” added the post.
