KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka Sarawak) will be holding a virtual programme in conjunction with the Sarawakiana Festival.
Pustaka said the Sarawakiana Series is a series of titles published to highlight the history, ethnics, arts and culture, beliefs and traditions.
“The programme’s goals are to educate the public and promote knowledge-sharing and research activities on Sarawak traditional wedding topics.
“It is also to showcase and inform the public on the Sarawakiana Series publication available in Pustaka’s collection,” it said.
The programme entitled ‘Sarawak Cultural Exhibition: Nikah, Melah Pinang and Pinchawan’ will be shared via video.
“Through this video, viewers will gain information on traditional wedding practices in Sarawak with a sneak peek of footage extracted from The Sarawakiana Series collection,” it said in a statement on Monday (Sept 13).
It added that the programme will be held tomorrow (Sept 15) at 11am and can be viewed via Pustaka Sarawak’s Facebook page (pustaka.sarawak) and YouTube channel (Pustaka Sarawak).
The Sarawakiana Festival was hosted continuously by Pustaka Sarawak starting from Sept 1 to Sept 30 this year.
