KUCHING: In conjunction with the reopening of tourists and recreational places, the public should grab this opportunity to visit tourist spots or engage in healthy activities such as hiking and mountain climbing.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah made the call during his working visit at Bako National Park yesterday (Oct 2).

“Being involved in such activities will bring us joy as we will be captivated with the beauty of nature in our state at the same time.

“Visiting the recreational spots will give the locals a chance to develop their local economy,” he added.

Abdul Karim also reminded visitors to preserve the natural beauty of the places by not committing vandalism or littering.

“We need to preserve and conserve nature not only for our generations but also for the future generations as well.

“Hence, we should appreciate and cherish that beauty and leave nature alone,” he stressed.
