MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom has called on the voters to choose wisely in this upcoming 12th State Election for a stable and strong government.
Dr Rundi, who is also Kemena incumbent, emphasised that voters need to return the mandate to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the polls to ensure uninterrupted development projects which are currently in the midst of implementation.
Hence, he disclosed it was crucial for the voters to rally their support for the current ruling government led by GPS and its component parties – PBB; Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS); Progressive Democratic Party (PDP); and Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) to ensure their victory in the upcoming polls.
“GPS has been proven to be committed in delivering their tasks to the rakyat in Sarawak,” he said on Sunday (Nov 14) during a ‘Randau’ session held here with nearly 30 headmen from longhouses in Suai Niah areas.
The ‘Randau’ (dialogue session) was organised by the Ministry of Rural Electricity and Water Supply.
He added, under GPS, Sarawak has been a stable State with more development planning undertaken for the wellbeing of the rakyat.
As such, he reminded the rakyat to retain the current government by returning the mandate this upcoming election.
“This includes bringing clean water supply and electricity to the rural areas through various initiatives established because we are committed to help the rakyat,” he said.
For the 12th Malaysian Plan (2021-2025), Dr Rundi said, there are many major water supply projects to be carried out for Sarawak, among others, the Sarawak Water Supply Master Plan and Water Grid as well as the extension of pipelines to rural folks.
On another note, when being queried on his preparation for the coming State election, he said, the party has always been prepared for the polls.
“For me, I am ready to defend the seat (Kemena), we’ll wait for the official announcement from the party chairman..for me, I have unfinished tasks for my constituents because there are a lot more development I’ve planned for them,” he added.
Also present were incumbent for Belaga Datuk Liwan Lagang and LAKU Management Sdn Bhd Datuk Nelson Balang Rining.
