KABONG: Yayasan Sarawak is giving out the school uniform vouchers to help poor pupils buy their school uniforms.
Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir reminded his constituents that the vouchers should not be used to buy other items.
He said the vouchers were given out to pupils at all schools in Sarawak.
“Yayasan Sarawak is implementing such assistance every year based on its performance and financial capabilities. So far, the management of the Yayasan Sarawak has been excellent and it has been able to provide assistance to the needy,” he said when opening the Randau Council with the Parent-Teacher Association of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Pasir near here yesterday.
A total of 11 SK Sungai Pasir Roban pupils received the Yayasan Sarawak uniform vouchers this year.
At the event, Mohd Chee presented a cheque for RM37,000 for the school to build a shed over the assembly area of the school.
