KUCHING: A part-time waiter was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a car at a roundabout at Jalan Stutong here early yesterday.
The victim was identified as Benedict Brendon Jeram, from Kampung Spaoh, Betong.
The fatal incident took place at around 2.30am while he was on his way home in Taman Satria Jaya BDC after finishing his work when a car, driven by 21-year-old man from Sarikei, went out of control and crashed into his motorcycle before ramming a tree by the roadside.
Benedict who sustained serious head and leg injuries died at the scene.
The car driver who was also injured in the incident was later taken to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.
Benedict’s body was taken to the same hospital for a post mortem.
