KUCHING: Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, a former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), was among the 839 recipients of the federal awards, honours and medals in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s official birthday today.
Wan Junaidi, 78, was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’.
He had previously served as the Member of Parliament for Santubong from 2004 to 2022, after holding the position of MP for Batang Lupar from 1990 to 2004.
Meanwhile, other 25 individuals were also honoured with the PSM award, including Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul, Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli, veteran politician Lim Kit Siang and former Menteri Besar of Kelantan and the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Additionally, 28 recipients were bestowed the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN), which carries the title ‘Datuk’, while four recipients received the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Diraja (PSD) award, also carrying the title ‘Datuk’.
The honours list further included 33 individuals who received the Darjah Kebesaran Johan Mangku Negara (JMN), 33 individuals (Darjah Kebesaran Johan Setia Mahkota [JSM]), three (Darjah Kebesaran Johan Setia Diraja [JSD]), and 116 individuals (Darjah Kebesaran Bintang Kesatria Mangku Negara [KMN]).
Six individuals received the Darjah Kebesaran Bintang Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD), 218 (Darjah Kebesaran Bintang Ahli Mangku Negara [AMN]), 316 (Pingat Pangkuan Negara [PPN]), and 56 (Pingat Bentera Setia Diraja [BSD]).
