KUCHING: Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will make a good Dewan Negara President, said Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
The Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister said Wan Junaidi’s experience and knowledge on parliamentary proceedings is admirable.
“For me, he is the right choice, he will make a very good President of the Dewan Negara based on his experience and knowledge.
“He was the deputy speaker of the Dewan Rakyat which makes him the right choice,” she added.
Fatimah pointed out that due to Wan Junaidi experience, it has made him a prominent stature both locally and internationally.
“He is a very credible candidate, we are very happy and very proud of him,” she told reporters after officiating at the launch of the Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Diploma of Early Childhood Education today.
For the record, Wan Junaidi who is a former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) replaces Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim whose term expired recently.
Wan Junaidi was the Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from April 2008 to April 2013.
