KUCHING: Individuals who came in close contact with the five recently detected Covid-19 positive cases here are urged to go for testing at health facilities throughout Kuching.

According to State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, there are five health clinics offering Covid-19 testing here.

The facilities include Jalan Masjid Health Clinic, Tanah Putih Health Clinic, Kota Sentosa Health Clinic, Batu Kawa Health Clinic which open Monday to Friday between 8am and 1pm, and Petra Jaya Health Clinic which opens Monday to Saturday at the same time, said Uggah.

For further enquiries, members of the public are told to contact the Covid-19 hotline at 082–443 991, 082–513 340, 082–649 813, 082–536 512, and 082–646 634 between the hours of 9am and 10pm.

Following this, Uggah said the recent increase in number of cases has raised concerns over the possibility of a second wave of Covid-19 cases.

“If we continue to be responsible and play our roles, we will be able to repeat our earlier success to flatten the curve of Covid-19.

“We can do it, but we must be committed and continue to sacrifice,” he told a press conference today (Jul 13).

In this regard, Uggah urged the people not to be complacent as the war against Covid-19 is still ongoing.

“It is our hope that the future will be brighter. But we cannot win the war if there are still irresponsible Sarawakians — complacent and careless,” he added.
