KUCHING: Sarawak is expected to experience continuous rain this Friday (Jan 6) and Saturday.
The Department of Meteorology Malaysia (METMalaysia) said today (Jan 3), continuous rain (alert) will affect several districts in the state including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, and Sibu.
A warning of continuous heavy rain is where its monitoring shows that heavy rain is expected to occur within one to three days or the ongoing rain or thunderstorm is expected to continue.
Under the category of continuous heavy rain, METMalaysia also said that affected areas with ongoing rain or thunderstorm in Mukah will involve Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu and Dalat in Jan 6 and 7, and also several areas in Sabah from today until tomorrow (Jan 4).
The public is also urged to monitor the weather condition through the department’s official website at https://www.met.gov.my/en/ the myCuaca mobile application or the department’s official social media pages.
