KUCHING: For the first time ever, Sarawak’s very own Strongwoman, Husnul Khatimah binti Wajidi will attempt to deadlift a car.
The record breaking event will take place this Sunday, April 15 at Sarawak Plaza.
The event is an effort to create awareness of the sport and to raise fund for Miss Husnul Khatimah to compete in the Static Monster World Championships in Gold Coast, Australia on the 20th of May 2018.
Husnul Khatimah, 39 has qualified for the Championships last October where only the top ten athletes from all over the world are selected from each bodyweight category.
“It is an opportunity for me to get ranked among the top athletes worldwide which has always been my dream and I am truly grateful that Sarawak Plaza has offered to host this crowdfunding event,” says Husnul Khatimah.
Having a Level 1 Certificate in CrossFit, she also competes in other fitness events and Powerlifting but has recently focused more on the Strongwoman discipline.
The single mother of one started her fitness journey at CrossFit Kuching in 2013 and would be the only strongwoman athlete qualifying from Malaysia.
The event is open to the public and will begin at 2.00 pm. Sports fans are encourage to come and support Husnul in this extraordinary attempt.
