SARIKEI: Pan Borneo contractors have scheduled for new pipe reconstructions on Wednesday (July 13) and were expected to complete works the next day (July 14), thereby causing water disruptions in several areas in Sarikei.
The affected areas are Jalan KJD Meradong, Skim B, the whole area of Pakan, the entire road of Jalan Bulat from Sungai Rusa until Sungai Joh, Kesa Baron, Kesa, Jalan Onn Dian, Sungai Garan, Jalan Friendship, Jalan Cola, and Simpang Pakan, while for areas in Bintangor Town, Sungai Sian, Selidap, Bukit Papit and Leebaan are expected to experience low water pressures.
Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) has advised the affected residents to ensure water supplies are enough for daily usage until its period of disruption.
JBALB Sarikei and the contractors will distribute water supplies to areas which are affected. In a statement by JBALB, they apologised for the inconvenience caused.
