KUCHING: Effective July 1, hawker stalls are no longer permitted to operate along the Kuching Waterfront area.

Despite prior notification that June 30 would be their final day, some vendors remained at their stalls.
In response, DBKU’s Ops Sita initiative ensured compliance with the new regulations.

The enforcement action involved the dismantling of stalls, removal of signage and clearing the designated areas.

Ops Sita started at 9 am today (July 1) and continued for over an hour.

A popular burger stall opposite a local hotel was among those affected, with their signages, fans, tables and sinks being removed.

This action serves as a stern reminder to all vendors regarding the importance of adhering to regulations to avoid inconveniences.
