KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) has denied endorsing anyone, including its president, to contest in the coming 12th state election.
PBK president Voon Lee Shan in a press statement today, reaffirmed that the party had not endorsed anyone to contest in the election as its candidate.
He claimed that PBK received overwhelming response in its search for suitable potential candidates to contest under the party’s ticket in the coming state election.
Unfortunately, many among those who offered themselves failed in their sincerity test which had cast doubt on their credibility to fight for the party and Sarawak.
Voon stressed: “PBK wants honest people to fight for Sarawak and not those who want to ride on the wave of PBK’s ‘In Quest Of Independence’ agenda to raise their marketability and see how much opponents going to offer them to get them to be turncoats”.
On reports that nine of its members had recently quit the party citing loss of confidence in its leadership, Voon said the party was aware of their desire a long time ago and as such their move did not come as a surprise.
The party had actually been monitoring closely their activities and network in the political circle, he added
Among them were Dr Elli Luhat, Jeffrey Unggat, Baba Emperan, Sylvester Embuas, Ignatius J Bunsuan, Joseph J Busuan, Robert Saweng, Kenneth Adan Silek and Lingga Atok.
