KUCHING: Sarawak recorded seven Covid-19 deaths on Wednesday, bringing the toll to 533.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the fatalities comprised mostly elderly people aged 60 and above, and have a history of comorbid diseases.
“The state’s 527th Covid-19 death was a 62-year-old woman from Kuching who was confirmed positive on Aug 30.
“She passed away at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and had high blood pressure and cerebral palsy disease.”
The 528th fatality involved a 78-year-old man from Betong who was confirmed positive on Aug 28.
The man passed away at Sarikei Hospital and had high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia.
The 529th fatality involved a man aged 62 from Pusa who was confirmed positive on Aug 27.
“The man passed away at Sarikei Hospital and had high blood pressure, and chronic kidney disease.”
Meanwhile, the 530th fatality was a 76-year-old woman from Serian, confirmed positive on Aug 26.
“She passed away at SGH and had a history of high blood pressure and heart disease.”
SDMC said the 531st fatality, also a woman from Kuching aged 85, was confirmed positive on Aug 21. She passed away at SGH and had history of heart disease.
Another death from Kuching, the state’s 532nd fatality, was a 75-year-old man from Kuching confirmed positive on Aug 25.
The man passed away at SGH and had high blood pressure, heart disease and lung disease.
The 533rd fatality was a woman from Sibu aged 74 who was confirmed positive on Aug 31.
She passed away at Sibu Hospital and did not have a history of comorbid diseases.
