BINTULU: A chipboard storage warehouse in Kemena Industrial Estate here, was engulfed by flames early Thursday morning.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 2.10 am incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Bintulu and Kidurong stations were dispatched to the scene, about 10km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they confirmed the fire and began extinguishing efforts using water sourced from a nearby fire hydrant.
The flames were brought under control at 4.30 am, with overhaul works conducted to ensure no risk of reignition.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation and departed back to their station.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
