TATAU: Two chicken coop blocks at a poultry farm along Jalan Sungai Sap here, were destroyed in a wee-hour fire this morning.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Tatau station were despatched to the scene following a distress call around 2.30 am.
Upon arrival, they found that the fire was still raging and proceeded with the extinguishing deed using water from a pond and the fire truck.
The flames, which also destroyed a five-tonne excavator, were brought under control at 3.30 am.
No injuries or casualties involving chickens were reported in the fire.
Once the situation was deemed safe and there are no embers left at the scene, the team ended the operation at 6.50 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
