Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah and her delegation were seen visiting 87-year-old bedridden Pandi Bin Lai.

OYA: The people especially the needy in our midst have been urged to forward their application for assistance to the Welfare Department.

In making the call, Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah pointed that the department is always open for application.

“The assistance is always open, and there is no closing date for the needy to apply through the Welfare Department,” she said.

She stated this while speaking at the fourth series of the Ziarah Ramadhan programme held at Kampung Boom here on Tuesday.

Held at Surau Darul Ikhlas, the function also saw the presentation of assistance to thirty deserving recipients.

The assistance in the form of cash and hampers were for village folks identified by the Surau Committee and who were not among the monthly assistance recipients of the state Welfare Department.

At the event, Fatimah, who is also Dalat State Assemblywoman, also gave the Minor Rural Project grant to Kampung Boom worth at RM45,000, plus another RM1,000 for implementing the activities during this fasting month of Ramadan Al-Mubarak.

The minister then visited the residence of a bedridden recipient of the assistance of the department since 2012, Pandi Bin Lai, 87.

Also seen present at the programme were Temenggong Haji Hendi Suhai and local community leaders.
