KUCHING: Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii recently visited several longhouses in his constituency to gain a better understanding of the residents’ living conditions.

During his recent trip, he visited the longhouses in the Sg Batu, Sg Minus, and Jalan Ulu Minus areas, including RH Jupong Nari, RH Bickson Naggar Ekek, RH Labu Andam, RH Regina Muruk, RH John Assan, RH Garai Chugat, RH Keli Angai, RH Ibik Aji, RH Rabeling Gendun, RH Sigan Kiam, and RH Rambai Bandang.

Huang, who is also the Repok assemblyman said that funds have been allocated to improve the welfare of longhouse residents, with repairs covering roofs, floors, ceilings, mats, fans, and other necessities.

“Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is giving special attention to rural areas in Sarikei, particularly longhouses and essential infrastructure, to enhance the living standards of the people,” he said.

Huang, who is also the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability added that under the leadership of  Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the GPS government has carried out numerous development projects benefiting all communities, ensuring no one is left behind.

“Let’s continue to support the state government so as to ensure continuous development and progress for the Sarikei constituency,” he said.
