KUCHING: Parti Bangsa Malaysia’s (PBM) application to join Barisan Nasional (BN) is none of Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) concern said Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.
He said when push comes to shove – if the party contests under the BN banner in Sarawak – GPS will put up a fight.
“If they choose to fight us, then we fight back. In this regard, whatever flag or logo they want to use in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15), that is up to them,” he told reporters when asked to comment on the matter.
The Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development emphasised that GPS is no longer under BN and it is doing fine without them.
He said GPS left BN back in 2018 and described it as a good decision.
“Now, Sarawakians has seen that we are able to stand on our own two feet. We need their help to continue to support and fight with us for the sake of Sarawak,” he added.
Earlier, PBM applied to join BN to be part of its major party components.
However, the decision on whether the application is accepted or otherwise has not been made by BN.
BN general secretary Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said this was due to BN considering on the applications received from other parties as well.
