A story of a school bully
True enough — behind every action lies a reason. Resonating the notion, G Music Production aims to raise awareness of the fact that there is a story behind every complexity through a theatre production “What about Gisele?”.
As it depicts the life of a school bully and why she bullies, producer Gena Sim said that the musical theatre play will highlight the story behind the school bully.
“The production highlight is relevant to today’s society, with mental health serving as the community’s driving force. Furthermore, today’s society is continuously under pressure, which is why it is important to highlight that everything happens for a reason and that we must try to understand every story,” she said.
Sim said the production, which is set to take place this Saturday at 7pm at the Old Courthouse in Kuching, also allows students under her studio, G Music Vocals, to showcase their talent on stage.
The musical production, which will be accompanied by a four-piece live band ensemble, will feature performers singing in various genres such as emo, punk, ballad, and pop. “What about Gisele?” is musically directed by Luther Wong, choreographed by Derek Kho, and written by Emily Eng. Meanwhile, the play is staged by three main performers — Charmine Michelle, Wan Faris, and Rachel Eng.
Tickets are priced at RM100 and RM60, inclusive of vouchers from COMMONS cafe, Kuching. Contact Gena Sim at 016-8677518 for more information, or visit the production house’s Instagram page, @gmusic_vocals_kuching.
