PADAWAN: Datuk Willie Mongin is keeping mum on his political future, sidestepping questions related to this at a press conference on Today (July 12).

When asked for updates on his application to join PBB, the Puncak Borneo MP said: “No political questions. I just want to concentrate on my work at the moment.”

The federal Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister confirmed that he had applied to join PBB in June.
He left PKR in 2020 and claimed that he had not joined any party when the Pakatan Harapan government collapsed, but merely expressed his support for the government of the day.
Willie won the Puncak Borneo seat in the 14th General Election on a PKR ticket and defeated Barisan Nasional’s Jeannoth Sinel by a majority of 4,005 votes.
