MIRI: An elderly woman and her 39-year-old son have been arrested by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) Sarawak for allegedly involved in trafficking activities during a raid in Tudan on Tuesday morning.
The police also seized drugs believed to be Syabu weighing 287.50 grammes and valued at around RM57,500.
Miri police OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said said the duo was detained at 8.30 am in the house.
“During a thorough inspection inside the residence, the police have found transparent plastic of crystal lumps suspected to be Syabu weighing at 287.50 grammes,” he stated in a statement released on Tuesday midnight.
The police also confiscated assets worth RM88,478 involving a Benelli motorcycle, jewellery, and cash.
Both suspects are on remand for seven days from yesterday until October 10 to facilitate investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
