SIBU: A 30-year-old woman perished in a fire that destroyed a double-storey house at Lorong Maling, Jalan Oya this afternoon.
State Fire and Rescue (Bomba) operations centre said the deceased was identified as Kong King Ling.
Firefighters from Sibu fire station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call about the incident around 12.08pm.
By the time the firefighters arrived, the fire had razed the 60×40 sq feet semi-permanent house.
The woman’s body was later discovered near the first floor bathroom of the house and handed over to the police.
