PADAWAN: A woman was killed after she fell off a motorcycle and was struck by two vehicles at Mile 5, Jalan Matang on Wednesday (August 5).
According to State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the victim, identified as Monika Mami, 41, was on the motorcycle with her husband, Adres Rijan, 50, and their child.
“The 12.20pm incident happened when her husband lost control of the motorcycle.
“Due to that, the victim fell onto the road and was hit by two vehicles — a Perodua Axia car and a Mitsubishi lorry — which was also passing through the same road,” he said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene while the rest were unharmed.
In Bintulu, a woman, believed to be of unsound mind, sustained injuries to her body after she was hit by a car near Assyakirin village on Wednesday (Aug 5).
The victim, who has yet to be identified, is believed to have suddenly emerged from the roadside before she was hit by the car driven by a 30-year-old woman.
Prior to the incident, the motorist was heading towards Parkcity Commercial Centre Square from Medan Central.
The victim was then taken to Bintulu Hospital for medical treatment.
