BINTULU: A midnight road accident claimed the life of a young in a collision between a pickup vehicle and a car at a traffic light junction.
The Bomba operations centre here which was alerted to the 12.27am incident today (Dec 22), despatched a rescue team from the Bintulu Bomba station to the Taman Tinggi traffic lights junction.
A spokesperson for the centre said two vehicles were involved in the collision.
“There were three victims in the compact vehicle (car) while no information was available on the individual from the pickup.
“The victims were trapped at the front and back seats of the car. Unfortunately, the driver identified as Nur Amira Idris, 37, was pronounced dead by medical officials at the scene,” he said.
The two injured passengers of the car were extricated from the vehicle by Bomba personnel and rushed to the hospital.
