KAPIT: A woman suffered injuries to both legs after her vehicle was rammed from behind by a four-wheel drive and crashed into a house gate pillar on Saturday.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident involving two vehicles occurred around 11pm at Lorong 6, Jalan Taman Airport.

“Apparently, the four-wheel drive knocked her vehicle from the rear, forcing the vehicle to move forward and crashed into a house gate pillar.

“As a result of the crash, the 37-year-old woman suffered injuries to both legs and was trapped in the driver’s seat,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Kapit firefighters managed to extricate the woman from the vehicle.

She was sent to Kapit Hospital for further treatment while the other driver emerged from the accident unscarred.

The case is classified under Rule 10 LN 166/59.

The victim was placed on a stretcher to receive treatment at Kapit Hospital after the crash on Saturday.
