MATU: A woman was shocked to discover a gold-ringed cat snake coiled up in the storeroom of Surau Nurul Islam, Kampung Bawang Hilir here, last night (Feb 8).
She alerted the Civil Defence Force (APM) which despatched a four-member team to the scene at 7.50pm.
It did not take long for the team to spot the reptile and capture the mildly venomous reptile.
The snake, measuring about six feet long, was later released to its natural habitat away from the surau and residential area.
Meanwhile in Sibu, a four-foot-long python inside a chicken coop at SK Sungai Assan was captured by APM personnel.
The reptile was spotted around 5am when the complainant spotted an object inside the coop.
The reptile weighing around 1kg, was later released into the wild.
