MIRI: Furious after her mother scolded her for not returning home, a woman in her early 20s threatened to kill her mother with a knife.
The incident reportedly happened in Kampung Pasir, Lutong near here at about 7pm on Tuesday.
Fearing for her safety the mother immediately called the police for help.
After receiving the distress call, the police immediately dispatched a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team to the location.
Upon arrived at the complainant’s house, the suspect was found pointing a knife towards her mother.
According to preliminary investigation, the suspect had failed to return home for three days which caused her mother to question her on her whereabouts.
Furious with her mother’s questioning the suspect grabbed a knife and used it to threaten her mother.
It took the police less than 15 minutes to apprehend the suspect.
She is now in police custody.
