LUBOK ANTU: A female passenger died on the spot after she was ejected from a pick-up truck that crashed near Lubok Antu junction on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Rotela Angela Roger, met a horrifying fate as she was crushed by the vehicle, she had been travelling in.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that the accident happened around 9.24 pm when the Toyota Hilux with three people onboard, is believed to have veered into the opposite lane before overturning into a ditch.
Firefighters from Betong station were promptly dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team employed a tow truck to facilitate the extrication of the victim’s body from under the vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and her body was handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, the driver and another passenger, both injured in the crash, was rescued out of the vehicle by passers-by.
Both of them were rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
